Kasbah Des Qudayas - Door One- Yaseen AndrewsenYaseen Andrewsen
The breadth of the Garden is reached through the narrow door of humility.
- Abdul-Hakim Murad
This is part of an ongoing series by Yaseen Andrewsen the stops look at the beauty in the mundane. Doors are portals to something yet unknown. Some doors that are well ornamented may may hide less beautiful secrets, while some simple doors may be the modest covering of the most enchanting of secrets; for others, the extended beauty is in line with the internal.
This particular door is the historic kasbah of Udayah, overlooking the Bou Regreg River and the old city of Sale. It sits in the corner, next to the entrance of a magnificent garden, complementing the beauty, but not demanding center stage. It has been weathered and tested, but maintains a beautiful dignity without boasting of its own apparent beauty.
